The torrential rains of the late hours of Saturday Morning amidst thunder and lightning could not stop the women’s wing of the New Patriotic Party who were poised to thank God for the many successes chalked by the party since forming government some two years ago and to seek for his favour for the president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his government.
The National Women’s Wing ‘All Women Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving” held at the Legon Botanical Garden was meant to pray for strength and wisdom for the government and to thank God for a successful two years in Government and for the peace of the country.
The program brought on board Ministers of God, former and current Ministers of State, MMDCEs, MPs, National, Regional and Constituency officers of the party and various volunteer groups such as Loyal ladies, NPP staunch Ladies and the Maidens of the Women’s Wing.
Few minutes after commencement of the program, the rain which had not shown any sign of falling fell uncontrollably as though it will never rain again.
However, the poised women led by Mrs. Joyce Aryee and the National Women Organiser Ms. Kate Gyamfua still stood their grounds and prayed fervently for their party and the country.
Ms. Gyamfua, the National Women Organiser expressed her appreciation to the women for the good work done.
She urged the women to continue to remain steadfast in faith and believe in God and in the Akufo-Addo government.
The women used the occasion to also pray for the success of some key government policies such as the NABCO, the 1D1F, the free SHS, 1V1D among other key government policies and projects.
The all women affairs program was however graced by the National Organiser, Sammi Awuku, the National Youth Organiser- Nana Boakye Nana B, National Nasara Coordinator- Aziz Futah and the Greater Accra Regional Chairman, Divine Otoo Agorhom.
