The Eastern Regional Chapter of the ruling New Patriotic Party’s ladies group, Loyal Ladies, have on Easter Friday provided food for thousands of patrons for this year’s Kwahu Easter.
The ladies provided sumptuous foods of different kinds ranging from local delicacies such as fufu, banku to some sweet exotic foods like fried rice.
The feast which occurred at the forecourt of the palace of the Obomeng Chief saw patrons eating to their full and some calling their colleagues to join the free feast.
Sweet food
Some of the patrons who spoke with the Evening Mail thanked the ladies for the gesture. They praised the ladies for their ability to provide food which tasted that nice to a large crowd of people.
“It is not easy to have food prepared for the masses of this nature and still taste this sweet. These ladies are really good”. A patron told us.
A season of Giving
Speaking to us, Captain of the Eastern Region Loyal Ladies, Ms. Agyare Abigail Owusua, said the decision for the feast was to give back to society. She stated that, Easter is a season of giving and merry making and so it was important they sit together with others to enjoy some good food and make merry.
“People have traveled from different places to this place to make merry. We just decided to also enjoy with them. We do not really mean that they cannot provide for themselves. What we mean is that Easter is a season of togetherness, giving and merry making and this is our own contribution to making this Easter a bit more fun for people.” Ms. Agyare told the Evening Mail.
