Some youth groups within the ruling New Patriotic Party on Mothers’ Day visited different locations in the country to put smiles in the faces of different groups of people.
Women’s Wing Maidens (WWM)
The Women’s wing Maidens of the party spent their Mothers Day with some Mothers at the labour ward units of some hospitals in Hohoe and Worawora in the Volta and the Oti Regions.
The delegation to the hospitals were led by Madam Rejoice Afi Agyagbo, the Volta Regional Women Organizer and and the host constituencies Women Organizers. WWM embraced this project as a colourful way to welcome the Oti Region to the list of Regions in Ghana.
One hundred (100) sets of baby bathes were donated to all new mothers and expectant mothers who were met at the hospitals. the Hospitals were also given four (4) large Dustbins and the host constituencies’ Women’s wings received one hundred (100) plastic chairs which could be used for their regular meetings.
LOYAL LADIES AND ASHANTI REGIONAL YOUTH WING
The Ashanti Regional branch of the Loyal Ladies and the regional youth wing under the auspices of the Regional Youth Organizer, Mr. Nelson Owusu Ansah also donated items worth thousands of Ghana cedis to the Ejura Government Hospital and Kantankani Muslim community in the Ejura Sekyeredumase Constituency.
At the Ejura Government Hospital, some of the items donated were bedsheets, washing powders, soap, anticeptics, insecticides, buckets and other items to facilitate the everyday cleaning and washing needs of the facility. This was to ensure hygiene and safety needs of the hospital is achieved.
Kantankani and nearby Muslim communities also benefited from bags of rice, sugar and assorted soft drinks and also as part of the mother’s day celebration, Sandals, Vails, Toiletries and buckets were given to mothers in Kantankani and about six (6) nearby communities.
NPP STAUNCH QUEENS,YKM AND NABA
At Accra, the Staunch Queens of the party in collaboration with the Young Kukrudites Movement and the Nana Bawumia Association also feted some head porters-Kayayeis- within the metropolis.
Under the leadership of the Greater Accra Regional Organiser, Prince Obeng, Regional NADMO Director, Achibold Cobbina, the MCE for Klottey Korle Municipal Assembly, Nii Adjei Tawiah and Constituency Executives of Odododiodio and Members of Greater Accra Volunteers Coordinating Committee, the group wined and dined with the kayayeis to put smile on their faces.
