Reggae dancehall artiste, Livingstone Etse Satekla known in the entertainment industry as Stonebwoy has urged managers of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) to consider the creative arts industry as part of the modules implemented by the agency in its newly introduced Job Center initiative.

Speaking at the launch of the YEA Job Center at the Bank of Ghana Auditorium at the University of Ghana, the 2018 Vodafon Ghana Music Award (VGMA) Reggae Dancehall artiste of the year said there are a lot of opportunities at the creative arts industry that can help curb graduate unemployment if given the needed attention.

Using himself as an example, he indicated that to get him moving, he has about ten people employed who take care of other activities of his brand as an artiste adding that the ten do not include his management and production crew.

He has therefore urged the agency to look at the creative art sector and bring them unto the job center platform.

The YEA Job Center is an online job portal to boost employment opportunities in Ghana for both employers and the teeming youth who are seeking decent jobs.

The job centre is meant to bring together job seekers and employers in both the formal and informal sector unto a common platform to explore job opportunities.

According to stonebwoy, while all the modules in the job center initiative are good the agency must also look at other means.

He pleaded with the politicians not to politicize the initiative.
