Municipal and District Chief Executives (MDCEs) in the Eastern Region have donated the sum of GHC100, 000 towards the COVID-19 fight.
Receiving the donation at the Information Ministry in Accra yesterday, the Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo-Maafo, expressed the government’s appreciation to the donors for their generous contribution.
The Senior Minister invited other private institutions and individuals to extend their support towards the fight against COVID-19.
He also commended the hard working health workers, particularly the frontline health staff, for their dedication.
Mr Osafo-Maafo said the President, knowing how the ordinary Ghanaian will be affected by the lockdown, is providing meals for some 400,000 deprived persons in affected communities.
