Citi Sports can confirm that the Ghana Football Association will name it’s new Technical Director on Friday October 2, 2020.

The GFA has been tight-lipped on matters relating to the vacant position for months, asking for patience as they put in necessary measures in order to hire the right candidate.

The Ghana FA has been without a Technical Director, since Francis Oti Akenteng’s contract expired at the end of March 2020.

In an exclusive interview with Citi Sports, GFA President, Kurt Okraku, confirmed that the announcement of the new Technical Director is imminent.

”We are in the home stretch, and are very clear as to who the person is,“ he said.

”We identified the lack of appropriate personnel, for which reason we immediately set the process in motion.

“I’m sure that soon Ghana will get to know the person and the composition of the directorate.”

In all, about 200 candidates applied for the Technical Director’s role.

8 candidates were shortlisted, before the number was eventually cut to 6, consisting of three Ghanaians and three others of foreign citizenship.
