The Eastern Regional Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has welcomed fresh and continuing tertiary students back to their various campuses for the new academic semester, urging them to combine academic excellence with active participation in student leadership.
Eastern Regional Youth Organiser, Samuel Osei Sarkodie, popularly known as SOS, in a goodwill message, encouraged students to begin the semester with a positive mindset and renewed commitment to their academic work.
He also urged students to stay connected and actively participate in activities of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON), describing the NPP student wing as an important platform for leadership development, civic engagement and political consciousness.
‘Future Leaders’
According to Mr Sarkodie, TESCON remains the heartbeat of the NPP on tertiary campuses and an important training ground for future leaders.
He encouraged students to join their respective campus TESCON chapters, engage with executives, attend programmes and remain informed about activities and opportunities available to them.
Mr Sarkodie further advised students seeking information about upcoming programmes and participation to contact their respective TESCON executives.
The “Back to School” message, anchored on the theme “Commitment Without Inducement,” seeks to encourage students to make their stay on campus productive while contributing to the activities of the party’s student wing.
Ghetto Outreach
Meanwhile, Mr Sarkodie recently joined the Member of Parliament for New Juaben North, Nana Osei Adjei, and the MP for Okere, Nana Addo Kenneth, for a ghetto outreach organised by the New Juaben North Youth Wing.
They were joined by constituency executives, party supporters and Eastern Regional Financial Secretary, Ing. Isaac Wuttoh.
The exercise was aimed at engaging grassroots youth directly and providing an opportunity to listen to their concerns.
Speaking on the sidelines of the programme, Mr Sarkodie said the NPP’s pursuit of victory in the 2028 elections would require a strategic and people-centred approach that listens to and responds to the concerns of Ghanaians.
He said community engagements, together with campus mobilisation through TESCON, formed part of efforts to re-energise the party’s youth base and strengthen its relationship with young people across the Eastern Region.
The Regional Youth Wing says it will continue to undertake programmes aimed at strengthening engagement among students, community youth and the party.
