The Member of Parliament (MP) for Effutu Constituency in the Central Region, Alex Afenyo-Markin on Friday 31si May, 2019 began presentation of 1,500 Mathematical Sets to candidates writing this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination(BECE) in his Constituency.
The MP for Effutu continued his benevolent gesture to the candidates 3rd June 2019, at the Municipal Education Office. The donation formed part of measures to ensure that no
candidate lacked basic learning inputs required for the examination.
Hon. Afenyo-Markin took the opportunity to speak to the candidates who had gathered at the Gyadze Catholic Church where they were being taken through final orientation ahead of the BECE on Monday 10th June, 2019.
He never minced words when he told the candidates they have no excuse than to perform well in the exam so they can also enjoy the Free SHS, H.E Nana Akufo Addo has instituted for all Ghanaian children.
Today at the Municipal Education office, he further encouraged the candidates to put up the best and make their parents, Effutu and Ghana proud . He assured them of support for their tertiary education once they complete successfully their Senior High School, which has been made free by Nana Addo’s government. The pupils in saying, ”Thank you” to the Hon. MP, assured him they would put to good use the Mathematical Sets they have received and also work hard to make the grades so they can also enjoy government’s Free SHS.
The MP also presented some brand new HP Laptops to 15 teachers in the Effutu Municipal basic schools who did not receive in the maiden event of the Afenyo-Markin 1 Teacher 1 Laptop (1T1L) Project. This brings to a total of 613 beneficiary teachers to the Laptop per teacher project by the MP for the area.
Educational development is top on the Effutu developmental agenda, with the supply of Decks to schools in the area, construction of community libraries, scholarship scheme for teachers, building of classroom units are but just a few to mention as remarkable successes of Hon. Alex Afenyo-Markin since he became the MP for Effutu.
