Asamoah Gyan, Ghana Black Stars’ all time top scorer and Turkey side, Kayserispor, talisman has stated that he would be releasing a Statement based on the telephone discussion he had with President Akufu Addo. He also added that his manager, Mr. Anim Samuel, would also be speaking on his behalf regarding his retirement from the Ghana National team.
On 20th May, 2019 which was Monday, Ghana’s skipper and leading striker, released a statement equivocally stating “I also wish to retire from the National Team permanently; not pretending my presence would not fuel the purported undermining the country has seen the captaincy.”
Following his retirement released, Ghana’s first gentleman, Akufu Addo, called on Gyan to rescind his decision to quit the national team permanently and avail himself in order to be called by the coach, Kwesi Appiah, as part of the contingent to represent the Nation in the AFCON 2019 in Egypt.
