The Minister for works and housing and Member of Parliament for Abuakwa south constituency has made some donations to the family of the late George Somuah Bosompem, headmaster of Salvation Army Basic School at Akyem Asiakwa who was murdered by some six boys of the town.

The MP made the donation over the weekend when he visited the family of the late headmaster to commiserate with them.

He gave the family an amount of GHC2000 to be used to buy a befitting casket for the late headmaster. He also pledged to support the family throughout the processes towards the final funeral rites and afterwards.

Assurance of Security
He stated that the news of the barbaric act embarked by the youth of the community came as a shock to him. He however assured the people of Asiakwa that adequate security measures are being put in place to ensure the safety of the people living in the town and the area.

 

Appeal
He used the occasion to plead with all teachers to be self defensive and vigilant when discharging their duties.

He pleaded with the teachers in the district who are currently on sit down strike because of the unfortunate incidence to calm down and call off the strike action because their concerns will be addressed by the government.

Mr. Somuah, the headmaster of the Asiakwa Salvation Army was allegedly beaten to death by some six boys in the town on 25th April 2019. The six are currently standing trial.
