MP for Oda (bent down) breaks ground for commencement of the projects while the MCE and NPP PC for the area and other dignitaries look on

Sod has been cut for seven different projects to commence in the Birim Central Municipality of the Eastern Region.

The projects span from the road, education to health sectors.

They include a maternity block at Oda Government Hospital, a CHPS compound at Oda Community 6, KG block at Oda El-Shadai Basic School, an administration block at St Francis Senior High Technical School, Oda Nkwanta town, Akyem Aboabo town roads and Bokagyei Phase Two at Oda Old Town.

The seven projects add to about 59 different projects that are already at various stages of completion, built by Akufo-Addo government since 2017.

Contracts for the seven projects, to be funded from the government’s ‘One Million Dollars per Constituency’ initiative, were awarded by the Middle Belt Development Authority.

All projects are expected to be completed within five months.

Committed to development

Cutting the sod, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, William Agyapong Quaittoo, stated that the Akufo-Addo government is committed to developing all corners of the country, adding that the seven projects will ease the infrastructure challenges in the area.

He noted that the Akufo-Addo government has shown good faith to the people who voted for him, and urged the electorate to reciprocate the gesture with votes during the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections.

The NPP parliamentary candidate for the area, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, added that the Akufo-Addo government has proven to be a government that walks the talk. He said elections must have positive consequences, and reiterated the call on the people to reciprocate the good works of the President with votes.

He noted that despite life-changing policies such as the Free Senior High School programme, One District, One factory, One Constituency, One Ambulance, among others, the government has still spread infrastructural projects across the whole country, adding that this is a sign of a government with integrity.

Appreciation

Assembly Member for Oda Nkwanta Electoral Area, Dennis Obeng Agyei, speaking to the Daily Statesman on the side-lines of a short ceremony to cut sod for the construction of Oda Nkwanta town roads, expressed appreciation to the government for the project. He added that, for several years, the area had not benefitted from any infrastructural project, saying the town roads project is a good one.

He indicated that apart from the roads, the town is already benefitting from ongoing construction of a health centre, drilling of boreholes, a completed institutional mechanised borehole, ongoing construction of computer laboratory, expansion of power supply, among other developmental projects.
