Flagbearer hopeful Dr. Bryan Acheampong has officially submitted his nomination to contest in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) upcoming presidential primaries, signaling his intent to lead the party into the 2028 general elections.

“I Come to Unite, Build, and Lead”

Addressing a large crowd of party faithful at the NPP headquarters in Accra, Dr. Acheampong said his decision to run is driven by “clarity, energy, and a deep sense of duty.”

“I speak as a servant ready to offer myself fully once again—for party, for country, for a future that must belong to all of us,” he declared.

From Humble Beginnings to National Leadership

Dr. Acheampong reflected on his upbringing in Mile 7, where he was raised by a single teacher-parent in challenging conditions. He said those experiences instilled values that have guided him in both business and public service.

“I know what it means to build from the ground up. I know the weight of responsibility. I know how a single opportunity can transform not just one life, but an entire family’s future.”

A Call for Respectful Campaigning

He cautioned his supporters to avoid divisive language or personal attacks that could undermine party unity.

“My supporters from north to south, east to west must shy away from comments and commentaries that smear individuals and ultimately affect the fortunes of our party,” he warned.

A November Campaign Launch Ahead

Dr. Acheampong announced plans to officially launch his campaign in November, promising a bold, inclusive movement.

“It will be the NPP’s campaign—a big campaign—and we will fight, and we will win,” he said.

He also thanked his supporters, some of whom traveled for over 20 hours from across the country to show solidarity.

Dr. Acheampong is among several prominent figures vying for the NPP flagbearer slot, a position that will determine who leads the party into the 2028 polls.
