Yahaya Salifu: Deputy Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser of the rulling New Patriotic Party on Saturday 14th September 2019, joined Atwima Nwabiagya South constituency in a clean up exercise and health screening.
In the party’s quest to improve sanitation in the country, Hon. Yahaya took the opportunity to sensitize the importance for everyone to raise the standards of health and hygiene around us. He also donated some amount of money to support the activities of the youth wing in the constituency.
The rationale for his participation was to drive home the understanding that, when it comes to keeping our environment clean, it is the responsibility of every citizen regardless of one’s status.
His presence was also of the essence that, when he exhibit leadership by participating in the clean up exercise, others will imbibe same and act accordingly.
Hon. Yahaya also encouraged the constituents to avoid indiscriminate dumping of plastic wastes, as it goes against our religious and moral teachings. Cleanliness is next to godliness. He stressed that, indiscriminate dumping of waste is not only an environmental problem but also a major hindrance to our socioeconomic development.
In pushing the agenda of His excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo, the president, to make Ghana one of the cleanest country in Africa, he charged the teeming constituents to make everyday a sanitation day not something to be done once a month.
He finally called on the youth and other party members present to work very hard towards ensuring victory for the party in 2020, for the alternative is very scary.
The youth also thanked him for his presence and also pledged their unflinching support to him and the party.
