After so much anticipation of American rapper Drake on Ghanaian soil by many fans in Ghana, the wait is finally over as online tickets sales company ‘Book Concerts Global’ have announced the 27th of March 2020 as the date for the appearance of Drake in Accra. The news broke as an online poster of Drake with information on the event hit Instagram on the official page of ‘Book Concerts Global’. Some fans showed their joy to finally have the American rapper in Accra by cheerful comments on social media.
After the ‘year of return’ ended last year 2019 and rapper ‘Drake’ was not among the many international celebrities who visited Ghana, some thought that that was the end to a rumor which had been paraded for a while now. But, with the recent African tour of Drake starting this March, the anticipation for the American rap artiste has been ignited. A sponsored advert on Instagram by ‘Book Concerts Global’, with the image of ‘Drake’ and information concerning the concert, is making rounds on social media and the fans are responding to it. Justin, a student from the University of Ghana, demonstrated his love for the rapper with a short video of himself rapping to a song of the rapper. A post of Facebook by Leticia Ampah read, “Oh my God! Let this be true! Can’t wait! Ready to empty my account”, she said. Another social media post by Amad Kissi read, “This will be the biggest show this year, period!”.
The official website of the company has also displayed dates corresponding to various shows for the artiste this March 2020. Drake is scheduled for Johannesburg on the 18th of March 2020, Lagos on the 29th of March 2020, and Cape Town on the 22nd of March, among other cities. Ticket prices for some of the lined up shows range between US$40 and US$1250. Tickets are currently on sale at www.bookconcerts.live
