Eazywaste Ghana on 5th June 2019, joined La Dadekotopon Municipal Assembly to celebrate the World Environment Day at the La Community center with the theme ‘Beat Air Pollution’.
The UN Environment Programme (UNEP, or UN Environment) annually organizes events for World Environment Day, which encourages worldwide awareness and action for the protection of the environment. It is celebrated on 5 June in over 100 countries. This year China hosted the global World Environment Day celebrations on the theme, ‘Air Pollution’. The event began in 1974 and since then the event has grown to become a global platform for public education and awareness.
Eazywaste Ghana is a startup recycling company in Ghana with objective of harnessing the plastic waste culture for the benefit of humanity. Eazywaste Ghana recycles plastic waste of all types through education and advocacy. It has outlet in all the 10 regions of the country and looking to go beyond Ghana. The startup company advocates for proper waste management practices through collaboration from government and other stakeholders in the waste management ecosystem.
This year world environment day was celebrated in collaboration with the La Dadekotopon Municipal Assembly. They took the opportunity to educate the citizens of the community on effect of burning plastic waste and it harmfulness to the environment. The event recorded about 50 people attending the program. They people share their experiences and pledge to contribute their effort in stopping air pollution through burning of plastic and also harming the environment.
