Belinda Appiagyei Debra (Afia Debra), GBUC SRC President elect
Belinda Appiagyei Debra popularly known as Afia Debra, a level 300 BSc Accounting Student of the Ghana Baptist University College has been elected as the Students Representative Council (SRC) President of the Kumasi Based University.
Ms. Debra’s victory makes her the third female SRC President in the history of the university coming after Grace Acheampong, 2010/2011and Faustina Sarfo, 2015/2016.
She is a former Local NUGS Secretary of the same University.
Ms. Debra who contested unopposed got 91.42% of the total vote cast to endorse her candidature as president while 8.58% voted against her.
The elections also saw Derrick Addai Jnr elected as the Vice-president and Benedicta Boakye Asiamah as General Secretary.
The almost all ladies SRC executive committee also saw Lawrence Amankwaa and Gracelyn Agyare elected as Financial Secretary and Women’s Commissioner respectively.
