It has emerged that former first lady and widow of the late former President JJ Rawlings, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, has pulled out of the December 7 general election, two weeks into the election.
Sources say the former first lady, in accordance with the law, has informed the Electoral Commission of her decision.
Nana Konadu is the flagbearer of the National Democratic Party (NDP), a party she formed herself.
Leadership of the party is set to address the press to officially announce the withdrawal from the contest later today.
