Deputy National Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hajia Safia Mohammed, has taken her campaign for the National Women’s Organiser position to the Bono Region as the party’s national executive elections draw closer.
Hajia Safia, who recently concluded engagements with delegates in the Upper West Region, received what her campaign described as a “massive and heartwarming reception” during her latest stop in Bono.
Women, youth and other party supporters joined the engagements as she continued her nationwide outreach to canvass support and outline her plans for the NPP Women’s Wing.
Focus on Women and Grassroots
During her interactions, Hajia Safia reiterated her vision of strengthening the Women’s Wing through greater empowerment, inclusion and opportunities for women at all levels of the party.
Her campaign said the Bono engagements were also used to listen to concerns from the grassroots and discuss ways of strengthening unity within the women’s structure.
The campaign described the reception as an indication of growing enthusiasm for her candidature. Such assessments, however, remain campaign claims ahead of the delegates’ vote.
Hajia Safia is seeking elevation from her current position as Deputy National Women’s Organiser to lead the party’s Women’s Wing.
She faces former Awutu Senya East MP Mavis Hawa Koomson in a two-person contest, with Hajia Safia occupying the number one position on the ballot and Mrs Koomson number two.
October 3 Contest
The NPP’s National Annual Delegates Conference and national officers’ elections are scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
Under the voting arrangements announced by the party’s National Officers Elections Committee, all eligible female delegates will be entitled to vote in the National Women’s Organiser election alongside other positions for which they are eligible.
With barely a week to the elections, Hajia Safia’s Bono tour forms part of the final phase of her nationwide engagements with delegates.
