The Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu

The Majority Leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, has observed that the opposition National Democratic Congress is against the Free Senior High School policy because the beneficiaries will get to decipher between their propaganda and the good works of the Akufo-Addo government.

Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, who is also the MP for Suame constituency, added that the NDC are up in arms against the Free SHS programme because they know educating more Ghanaian youth “will open their eyes” to discern their lies.

According to him, the only way the NDC can return to power is when the “people of this country continue to remain in total ignorance…so they (NDC) can always fill their minds with propagandists and mediocre ideas.”

He made these comments on Monday when he addressed the media at the 10th anniversary celebration of Al-Wahda Club of NPP in Kumasi.

The Majority Leader said he is at a loss as to why the decision of the government to educate majority of the youth through the Free SHS policy would be opposed by the NDC, if not for their parochial interest.

“This is what the NDC hate to see: to see the good people of Ghana move from ignorance to become strategic partners in nation building,” he said

More policies

He told the media that the present generations and generations yet unborn will be very grateful to President Akufo-Addo for the policy.

“The NPP government, led by President Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia, will continue to implement policies which will change the fortunes of this country,” he said.

Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu charged Muslims to support the NPP government and campaign massively for the party to win the December elections to continue with its policies.

“It is not true that NPP is anti-Muslim party. Former President John Agyekum Kufuor appointed Muslim as his Vice-President. President Akufo-Addo has also appointed a Muslim, Dr Bawumia, as his Vice President. How can anti-Muslim party appoint Muslims as vice-presidents?” he queried.
