The National Youth Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Henry Nana Boakye has expressed shock at the sudden demise of the Ahafo Regional Chairman of the NPP.
Mr. Boakye has also expressed worry about the recent deaths in the party.
Chairman Jerry’s Death
Chairman Jerry died on Saturday evening when his car got involved in a fatal accident killing him and his aide.
The NPP Chairman was returning from a funeral when his car got involved in the unfortunate accident upon reaching Acherensua Hwidiem.
Losses in the NPP
The NPP has lost some key party figures in recent times.
The party lost its Chairman of the Council of Elders Clement Kubindiwo Tedam on April 25, this year.
On 12th May, 2019, Justice Adjakuma, the young man who lost his eyes during a Let my Vote Count Demonstration in September 2015 also died at a hospital at Malam in Accra.
Again, on 15th May, 2019, the party lost its Former Volta Regional Women’s Organiser, Aku Sika Nkansah.
Late last year, the Party lost its Ayawaso West Wuogon Member of Parliament, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko.
Nana B’s reaction
Reacting to the unfortunate deaths, the NPP National Youth Organiser said the deaths have “brought deep grief” to all members of the party.
He said, “It is sad to lose such dedicated leaders of our party at this time.”
Poised to win seat
Nana B stated that chairman Jerry “was poised to lead the NPP in winning all six Constituencies in the Ahafo Region”
“On my recent working working visit to the Ahafo Region, ‘Chairman Jerry’ was very instrumental in all our activities. He was poised to lead the NPP in winning all six Constituencies in the Ahafo Region.” He said.
Sympathy
The NPP Youth Organiser, conveyed “deep sympathies from the National Youth Wing to the families of our departed Patriots.”
