A 40-year old woman who works at GCB- Bank, Nsawam Branch, Agnes Asampana, has committed suicide at Ayokotse in Suhum.

According to reports, the woman died without leaving behind any notice.
Eastern Regional Police PRO, DSP Ebenezer tetteh who confirmed the incidence to the media said on 5th July at about 5:20pm , one Bajerisong Lazarus reported to the Suhum Police that on the same day at about 4:10pm he went to Ayekotse a suburb of suhum to visit his sister, Agnes Asampana, only to find her hanging dead in her bedroom.
According to DSP Tetteh, on receipt of the report, police proceeded to the scene at Ayekotse and found the lifeless body of the deceased hanging with a nylon rope tied around her neck against a ceiling fan.
He said the body was carefully examined but no external marks of violence were detected.
It is unclear what could have made the woman hang herself but residents who reside in her area suggests that, it could be frustration from the workplace.
Meanwhile, the body has since been deposited at the Suhum hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy.
