Deputy Minister of Works and Housing, Barbara Asher Ayisi has lost her seat in Parliament.
She was defeated by Dr Kwamina Minta Nyarku of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Monday’s polls. The incumbent Cape Coast North MP polled 21,643.
Her archrival polled 22,972.
In the presidential race, however, the NPP’s Nana Akufo-Addo polled 24,360 to outperform his main contender for the NDC, former President John Mahama, who polled 20,105.
