Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for South Dayi in the Volta Region, has expressed frustration over the NDC’s poor performance in the recently concluded Kumawu by-election. Dafeamekpor, who was involved in the Ashanti Regional Reorganization Project in 2022 of the party, raised concerns about the integrity of the party’s register and questioned the loyalty of NDC executives in the Ashanti Region.
In a social media post, Dafeamekpor highlighted the need for a thorough audit of the party’s register and a closer examination of the branch executives. He expressed bewilderment over the fact that although the NDC has nine executives in various branches, some branches recorded only three or four votes, raising doubts about the whereabouts of the remaining executive members.
The unexpected outcome of the Kumawu by-election has prompted Dafeamekpor to call for a re-evaluation of the party’s internal processes. He emphasized the importance of assessing the reliability of the NDC’s members in the Ashanti Region.
The Kumawu by-election results have served as a wake-up call for the NDC, reminding them of the importance of unity and effective organization ahead of the 2024 general election. The party will need to undertake the necessary actions to address the concerns raised by Dafeamekpor and reaffirm its commitment to serving the interests of its members and the Ghanaian people.
