The internal collation done by the NDC projects the party’s 2016 Presidential candidate to win the ongoing flagbearer race with 95.24%. Evening Mail can confirm.
According to the results from the party’s national headquarters, John Mahama is expected to poll 213,410 votes.
Prof. Joshua Alabi according to the figures is expected to poll 3398votes representing 1.52 to come second with Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin getting 2312 representing 1.0%.
Surprisingly, Mr. Goosie Tanoh who left the party to form his own party in 2000 came forth ahead of Spio Gabrah, the only contender in the race who has tasted presidential primaries before.
Mr. Tanoh polled 2036 representing 0.91% whiles Ekwow Spio Gabrah polled 1457 representing 0.65%.
Mr. Sylvester Mensah, former NHIS Boss, according to the results polled 928 votes representing 0.41% with Mr. Nurudeen Iddrisu, a private businessman trailing all the other six with 519 votes representing 0.23%.
From the NDC’s internal results collated, the total number of valid votes cast is 224060.
Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission is expected to announce the final results in some hours time as collation is yet to begin at the EC’s National Collation Center.
