True Worshippers Prophetic Dance Ministries, a religious body, has been providing some humanitarian services to the people of Mafia Dedukope, a village in the North Tongu district of the Volta region, especially in the area of education.
Following the devastating nature of the Mafi Dedukope D/A school, the religious body has extended a hand of assistance to the school to aid effective teaching and learning.
In this regard, True Worshippers Prophetic Ministries, under its “Save the village child’s education”, has presented 70 bags of cement, two trips of sand and an undisclosed amount to the chief and elders of Mafi Dedukope towards the construction of a new classroom block for the kindergarten section of the school.
Besides, the church also donated packs of assorted drinks, pack of bottled water, boxes of biscuit, candies, learning materials to pupils and teachers of the same school.
Deplorable state
Speaking to the media, the President of True Worshippers Prophetic Ministries, Rev. Vincent Anowie, said it is “very disheartening” for the pupils to study under a tree in the open, adding that whenever there is a downpour the kids are unable to continue with their studies and forced to truncate their studies.
He further used the opportunity to call on all Ghanaians, especially government officials, to focus on developing the deprived communities and schools since they are also part of the nation and are therefore entitled to decent lives in a congenial environment.
Rev Anowie said the poor learning and teaching environment in the school had over the years contributed significantly to the reduction in attendance of the students and increased truancy among them.
Commendation
The chief of Mafi Dedukope, Torgbui Dedu IV, on behalf of the community, expressed their profound gratitude, and assured the entire organisation of putting the facility into good use after the execution of the project.
He took the opportunity to call on other philanthropic organisations, individuals, government officials and benevolent people to come to their aid since their community lacks a lot of amenities.
