Francis Pwalua (left) won GHC 126,000.00 jackpot with GHC2.00

The National Lottery Authority (NLA), through its new Jackpot game, Daywa, has empowered Francis Pwalua, a 64-year-old farmer from Navrongo in the Upper East Region.

Mr Pwalua received a cheque for GHC 126,000.00 as the ultimate winner of the Daywa 5/39 Jackpot game.

According to a release from the communications directorate of the NLA, he won the GHC 126, 000.00 with only GHC 2.

The Daywa Jackpot is a new game launched on November 26 2019 by the NLA. It is a public-private partnership initiative involving the Authority and Luckweb Ghana Limited.

Other new games

Under the management of Kofi Osei-Ameyaw, director-general of NLA, several exciting new games have been introduced to support the revenue generation capacity of the Authority, alongside the original 5/90 lottery game.

They include NLA VAG 5/90 Lottery, which is being implemented in collaboration with the Veterans Administration Ghana (VAG); Lucky 3, which is being implemented in collaboration with Keed Ghana Limited; and 787 Game, which is partnered by Wotiriye Lottery.

“By the end of 2020, new games would be implemented by the National Lottery Authority (NLA) in order to expand the revenue mobilisation of the Authority to support national development,” the release said.

It added: “Within the last three years, the Authority has achieved a lot and would continue to work hard in accordance with the vision of President Akufo-Addo and the Ghana Beyond Aid Agenda.”

The release congratulated Mr Pwalua on winning the GHC 126,000.00 Daywa Jackpot Game with only GHC 2, urging him “to use the money wisely for the benefit of himself, family and society.”
