The National Chairman of the premix fuel Committee, Nii Lante Barnnerman has emphatically stated that there is nothing like Protocol allocation in the sale of premix fuel in the country.

Mr. Barnnerman made this known during a meeting with Landing Beach Committee members, Operation Officers, Regional Officers and Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMCES) from the coastal areas and the Volta lake side where people engage in fishing activities.

He said that premix fuel is exclusively meant for fishing activities and should be sold only to people who use Outboard Motors to propel their boats/canoes.

“In the sale of premix fuel, preferential treatment is not given to anyone, not a Chief, Operation officer, Member of Parliament or whoever.” Mr. Barnnerman said

Punishable

Quoting from the Premix Fuel Legislative Instrument (L.I 2233) he stated that 53% from sale of the premix fuel is accrued for Community Development and must be used strictly for Community projects.

He stated that “gone are the days when some Landing Beach committee members, Operation officers, MMDCES and Members of Parliament saw the Community Development fund as money meant for private individuals and used it without rendering any account” adding that per the L.I, the accrued money is Public funds and the misuse of it would draw people to face the Public Account Committee.
