A Deputy National Women Organiser of the New Patriotic Party, Mimi Duah, has presented water and an undisclosed sum of money to the team of Ghanaian broadcast journalist, Afua Asantewaa O Aduonum, who is embarking on an ambitious quest to break the Guinness World Records for the longest individual singing marathon.
Ms Duah was also at the Akwaaba Village, where the event is currently ongoing to lend a moral support to the ambitious Afua Asantewaa.

Speaking to the media, she indicated that the NPP’s wing, led by it’s National Women Organiser, Kate Gyamfua, was committed to women development and empowerment hence the decision to support the young lady to achieve her ambitious target.
She noted that the time has come for the entire nation to rally behind individuals who embark on such ambitious journey to put the country on the map.
She encouraged the team to keep working hard and not lose focus and the feat envisaged is achievable.
Afua Asantewaa commenced the event in Accra at midnight on Sunday, December 24, and is expected to keep singing continuously until December 27.

The Ghanaian singer is expected to break the longest singing marathon by an individual which lasted 102 hours. The record is held by Indian Sunil Waghmare, who earned the milestone after singing for 105 hours from March 3 to March 7, 2012.

In a nearly five-day event the mother of three opened the marathon with the iconic Osibisa track ‘Woyaya’ and continued with a medley of seasonal Ghanaian gospel hits from artistes such as Tagoe Sisters, Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Yaw Sarpong and Esther Smith.
She switched from the gospel scene and transitioned to secular tunes by the likes of Shatta Wale, Ebony Reigns, Wendy Shay, Kuami Eugene, KiDi, Adina, Samini, Sarkodie, Black Sherif among others.
