The National Women’s Wing of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has assured all party members and supporters of its preparedness help in securing victory in the upcoming Assin North by-election.
A statement released by the National Women Organiser, Kate Gyamfua, said the rank and file of the NPP would continue to work diligently, mobilize resources, and rally behind the party’s candidate to secure yet another remarkable victory.
She also extended her warmest congratulations to Mr Ernest Yaw Anim for his resounding victory in the Kumawu by-election.
“The Kumawu by-election showcased the active participation of women, highlighting their indispensable role in shaping the political landscape of our great nation. We are pleased to witness an increasing number of women who exercised their democratic right to vote and contribute to the decision-making process. Their involvement signifies the growing recognition of the invaluable perspectives and contributions that women bring to the table,” she said.
She said Mr Anim’s dedication, vision and commitment to serving the people of Kumawu had resonated strongly with both men and women in the constituency, adding “We believe that under his leadership, Kumawu will witness tremendous growth and development.”
The NPP National Women’s Wing further lauded the entire NPP family for their collective efforts and commitment, which led to the remarkable victory.
“The unity and solidarity displayed by our members have undoubtedly contributed to this success. We are proud of the hard work put in by our party faithful, particularly the women who tirelessly campaigned, rallied support, and demonstrated their unwavering commitment to the NPP’s ideals.

Open primaries
Meanwhile, the party has announced its decision to open nominations for its presidential primaries today.
The decision was taken at the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Council meetings held on Monday, April 3, 2023.
The nomination process will end on June 26. Flagbearer aspirants are expected to pay a non-refundable nomination fee of GH¢50,000.
