Manager of Akyemansa Fm Presenting Certificate to the students of Odasco

The inter schools quiz competition for Senior High Schools (SHS) in the Akim Oda enclave in the Eastern Region has successfully come to an end last Saturday 6th April at the Church Of Christ auditorium near Birim Central Municipal Assembly head office. The event was organized by popular radio station, Akyemansa 96.1MHz FM in the Birim Central Municipality

The quiz competition featured 11 Senior High schools from six different Municipal and District Assemblies within the Akyem Oda zone of the region.

The schools comprised Takorase Senior High, Atweaman Senior, St. Francis Senior High and Technical, Salvation Army Senior High, Ayirebi Senior High and Akokuoaso Senior High and Technical.

Others were Akim Swedru Senior High, Achiase Senior High, Aprade Senior High, Attafuah Senior High and Technical and Oda Senior High School.

The two schools which were able to journey through to the final stage of the competition were Oda Senior High School (ODASCO), also known as Nananum,  and Attafuah Senior High and Technical School(ASTECH) also known as The Royals (Adishiɛ), all located in the Birim Central Municipal.

At the end of the competition ODASCO emerged victorious with a three point margin obtaining 119 points as against the main counterpart ASTECH who obtained 116 points. This was after the toughness of the game had taken the competition to an unprecedented fifth rounds.

The fifth round became apparent after both schools tied at 110 points appease at the end of the usual four rounds.

The quiz was moderated by Mr. Richmond Okyere popularly known as ‘Octopus’. ODASCO was represented by Jawaad Mohammed and Osei Amo Justice  whilst Savior Senanu and Kwabena Darko represented ASTECH.

The General Manager of Akyemansa FM, Mr. Yaw Yeboah congratulated all the schools that partook in the competition and wished those who go not sail to the final round better luck.

Winners of the competition were awarded with an undisclosed amount of money, a flat screen television set, Kwese TV decoder, a dish, certificates and a trophy.
