Mr. Paul Ansah receiving the boxes of Chocolates from Chocomac
The Technical Advisor to the Ministry of Transport who doubles as the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for the Asuogyaman constituency, Paul Asare Ansah, has received 30 boxes of Chocolates and other confectioneries for this year’s valentine day celebration with the basic school pupils in the constituency. The chocolates were received from Chocomac Ghana limited, a chocolate production company in Ghana. Pupils from all 57 basic schools in the constituency will benefit from the cocoa product as well as other educational items on valentine day this year.
Annual Event
The Paul Ansah valentine day with basic school pupils begun last year and has since become an annual event. Last year, about 4000 pupils and teachers from over 20 schools in the area benefitted from the show of love, when he presented chocolates, exercise books, other confectionaries among others to them.
Cocoa farming
Presenting the chocolate and other confectioneries to the NPP PC, Dr Mills Kojo Yamoah, Consultant for the Chocomac Ghana limited, stated that the company often distributes such items to school going pupils to help them appreciate what Ghana’s cocoa is used for and to get the kids to educated their parents on the importance of cocoa farming.
Dr. Yamoah indicated that last year, Chocomac did similar presentation in the Agona East District adding that two districts, Asuogyaman and Asikuma Odoben Brakwa will be benefiting this year.
He stated that though the Asuogyaman District is not a cocoa district, they saw the need to add them to the beneficiaries considering the vision of Mr. Ansah to make the district a cocoa growing hub of the country. He promised that Chocomac will continue to support him for the vision to materialize.
President’s Vision
Mr. Ansah on his part stated that the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has promised to ensure every Ghanaian basic school pupil have a taste of Ghanaian chocolate while he remains in school. He said he is therefore doing his bit in ensuring that the vision materializes.
He expressed hope that, the gesture will motivate the pupils to venture into cocoa farming in the near future while also urging their parents to consider going into cocoa farming.
The chocolates and the other confectioneries will be distributed together with other school going materials in February this year.
