The Police at Kintampo in the Bono East Region has arrested one of two suspected armed robbers who allegedly attacked a student with cutlass and robbed him of an amount of GH¢180.00 and a Techno mobile phone valued at GH¢125.00
The victim, Mohammed Shasudeen, aged 31 is a student of the College of Health and Well-Being, Kintampo.
Chief Inspector Augustine Kingsley Oppong, the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regional Police Public Relations Officer confirmed the incident to Ghana News Agency on Monday in Sunyani.
He said the suspects also threatened Shasudeen to reveal his pin number and consequently one of them proceeded to cash out GH¢900.00 from his mobile phone account.
Chief Inspector Oppong said Police investigations led to the arrest of Manan Abdul Aziz, a 22-year old unemployed who admitted the offence upon interrogation.
He said a Techno mobile phone was retrieved from him and effort was being made to apprehend the other accomplice from his hide out.
