The Executives of the Private University Students Association of Ghana (PUSAG) has pleaded with the Ghana National Petroleum Cooperation(GNPC) foundation to consider Private University Students in their scholarship schemes. According to PUSAG President, Alswel Annan, private university students are often not allowed to access the scholarship at the secretariat, a situation which he describes as ‘unfortunate’.
Mr. Annan was speaking during a courtesy call by the leadership of the Association on the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Foundation, Dr. Dominic Eduah.
Response
Dr. Eduah in his response to the request said the issue is a delicate one that had come before the board and plans were far advanced to allow private universities students to access the scholarship. He stated that “last year some private university students gained access to the scholarship” adding that “however, the board will put in appropriate measures to allocate more slots to private university students next year”.
