The Editorial Team of Evening Mail wishes to unreservedly retract aspects of its publication titled “NCCE Bemoans Duplication of Roles by MDAs”, published in our July 15, 2026 edition.
Following concerns raised by the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), we acknowledge that portions of the story did not accurately reflect the submissions made by the Commission’s Director of Communication and Corporate Affairs, Rita Amparbin, during the National Justice Conference held in Accra.
In particular, the headline, lead, and certain portions of the report erroneously suggested that the NCCE was challenging the establishment of Public Relations or Public Affairs units within Ministries, Departments and Agencies. We also inaccurately attributed concerns relating to funding and Public Relations structures to the Commission. We concede that these representations don’t fully capture the substance of the statement made at the conference. We sincerely regret the inaccuracies and any misunderstanding or inconvenience they may have caused the National Commission for Civic Education, its officials, stakeholders and our readers.
