Member of Parliament for Suhum Constituency in the Eastern Region, Mr. Fred Opare Ansah has donated over 300 street light bulbs to some communities in his constituency.
The donation worth GH₵240,000.00 among other relief items were given to the constituents depending on the needs of the various communities.
The Suhum legislator also used the opportunity to school the residents on government key policies such as; the Double Track Free SHS System, One District, One Factory, NEIP, YEA, Afforestation projects, NHIS among other policies.
The Suhum Mugabe as he is affectionately called urged the constituents not to be afraid of the current intermittent power outages and believe that the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo holds the keys to end the challenge in no time.
The Suhum Lawmaker who was engaging with his constituents as part of his outreach tour noted that the Akufo-Addo led government has laid down pragmatic steps that have reduced electricity bills and still on course to make it more affordable.
He said all these make the president a good person and urged his constituents to hoot at doomsayers who claim ‘Dumsor is back’ saying Dumsor cannot be back under ‘visionary Akufo-Addo’.
School Roofing
Frederick Opare Ansah, further donated 20 bags of cement and 500 pieces of roofing sheets to support the Obuotumpan MA Basic School as their roofs were raided by a heavy downpour some weeks ago.
He expressed that, the school building at Obuotumpan was constructed through his effort and for that matter deems it necessary to refurbish the roofing following the unfortunate raid by the storm.
Drone
The MP also visited the drone center located at his constituency, Omenako.
He used the opportunity to allay the fears of the constituents with regards to the drone taking naked pictures of people at their various houses as was being claimed by the NDC national women organiser Dr. Hannah Bisiw.
“I am aware, very soon the national security will come out with the regulations on the drone operations in their quest to bring sanity in the country. I am very happy that the government has taken that step looking at the timespan between taking off from the center and getting to major medical facilities in and around us is very impressive’’.
He added that “We know there will be a bit of challenges that would confront the initiative but in all, I think it would benefit Ghanaians”.
