Teachers of Senga basic school in the Kwaebibirim Municipality of the Eastern Region have lamented about the poor nature of their school building which has become a death trap. According to the teachers ,due to the nature of the school building, they have no option than to close from school at the slightest sign of rain.
Speaking to the Evening Mail, the Headmaster of the school, Mr Ababoi Patrick said the situation is hampering the smooth running of academic activities in the school. “At the slightest sign of rain, we have to close from school for fear of collapse of the building onto the kids. Aside even the fear of collapse, the roofing is in dilapidated state that we cannot stay under it when it rains.” He told the Daily Statesman.
They are therefore calling on the Kwaebibirem Municipal Assembly, the Ministry of Education and other well meaning Ghanaians to go the aid of the school.
