The National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party, Henry Nana Boakye has stated that the future of the Ghanaian youth under the Presidency of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is ‘solid and promising’ with the many life changing policies initiated and implemented by the NPP Government.
According to Nana B, as the NPP youth organizer is affectionately called, “for the first time in recent history, Ghana has a Tertiary Education Policy Document which encapsulates cardinal policies of Government on tertiary education, from admissions through graduation, funding, graduate studies and cross-cutting issues on gender, equity and inclusiveness as well as the labour market.”
This was contained in a press statement released by the NPP National Youth Organiser to welcome students of the various tertiary institutions to campus.
He stated that in the next two to three years, the tertiary strand of the education sector in the country will witness astronomical growth adding that the government through the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) are also gearing up to meet this demand with expansion in educational infrastructure. He has therefore urged the students to believe in the Akufo-Addo government since the government has put measures in place to make academic life, especially for fresh students, lively on campuses.
TESCON
Mr. Boakye also urged fresh students to join the Tertiary Education Students Confederacy (TESCON), the NPP student group, on the various campuses. He stated that TESCON for the past 19 years has trained thousands of young people who have assumed delicate leadership positions at the political, governance and corporate levels and are contributing immensely to the sustainable growth of the economy to enhance shared prosperity describing the group as “the only formidable association on our campuses with the track record in grooming and supplying the country with good leaders”.
He encouraged continuing students who are already members of the TESCON fraternity, to keep the faith, stay committed to the cause and be resolute in the pursuit of greater heights as the National Youth Wing strives to reorient, retool and reposition TESCON for victory 2020 and beyond.
