The Okyeman Association of Georgia, a group based in North America, has made a generous donation to support children at the Our Faith in God Foundation orphanage in Akwatia in the Eastern Region.

The donation comprised essential items such as rice, sugar, cooking oil, noodles, tinned tomatoes, mackerel, biscuits, assorted drinks, and bottled water.

Consistent support

Speaking at the presentation, Kwame Asare, Treasurer of the Okyeman Association of Georgia, explained the group’s motivation for supporting the children’s facility annually.

“We are a group based in North America, and we decided to help. Every year, we feel motivated to come back and give to these children. It’s heart-warming watching them grow,” he said.

Mr Asare commended the impressive work done by the facility’s management with limited resources and expressed the association’s commitment to continue assisting in completing some of the facility’s ongoing projects.

Robert Baafi, an Executive Committee Member of the association, reaffirmed their dedication to consistent support.

“We’ve been doing this every year, and we’re not stopping anytime soon because our checks have proven to be legitimate. Every year, around September, we raise money and come to present it to them. It’s gratifying to see that they continue to grow and support the children,” Mr Baafi stated.

He praised the facility’s coordination and logistical efficiency, describing them as impressive and expressing gratitude for the work being done for the children.

Janet Oppong, CEO of Our Faith in God Foundation, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Okyeman Association of Georgia for their continued generosity.

She invoked “showers of blessings” upon the association and prayed that they receive abundant rewards for their kindness.

Mrs Oppong pledged to ensure prudent and transparent use of the donated resources, emphasising efficiency and integrity in managing the facility to safeguard the children’s future.

She also reiterated the foundation’s openness to support from organisations, groups, and individuals willing to contribute to the welfare of the children.
