We’ll Retaliate NDC’s Intimidation When We Return To Power-Chairman Buga The Third National Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Osman Masawudu, popularly known as Chairman Buga Buga, has issued a strong warning to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), saying the NPP will retaliate against what he describes as politically motivated intimidation if the party regains power in 2029.
Speaking during an interview with Kwaku Owusu Adjei on Adwenekasa on Original TV, Alhaji Masawudu accused the NDC of weaponizing state security agencies to target NPP officials, especially in the wake of the recent arrest of Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi) and other prominent party members.
“The NDC should not think what they are doing today will go unanswered. When we return to power in 2029, we will also use the security agencies to deal with NDC officials who have been involved in corruption,” Chairman Buga Buga said.
His comments have stirred controversy, with critics warning against the normalization of political revenge and the misuse of state institutions for partisan purposes.
Others within the NPP have remained silent, though some grassroots supporters have rallied behind Masawudu’s tough rhetoric.
The arrest of Chairman Wontumi and other NPP figures has deepened tensions between Ghana’s two main political parties, with the NPP alleging a targeted witch hunt, while the NDC maintains that law enforcement is merely performing its duties.
