Barcelona’s head coach, Xavi Hernandez, has voiced his frustration over the team’s recent performances, attributing their subpar results to a lack of tension and focus now that their primary objective of winning La Liga has been accomplished. In a candid interview, Xavi addressed several pressing issues, including the team’s performance, player conversations, and a controversial suspension reversal.

Acknowledging the difficulty of preparing for matches after achieving their goals, Xavi expressed his concern about the team’s recent dip in form. He attributed their underwhelming results to a collective lack of tension, admitting that it has affected their performance on the pitch. Despite their best efforts, the team experienced a drop in intensity during the second half of matches, resulting in missed opportunities.

“We carry an enormous workload throughout the season, in a World Cup year as well… We have met the objectives of the Super Cup and La Liga. I understand the downturn, but the image saddens me. Let’s hope to improve it,” Xavi stated, emphasizing the team’s achievements while expressing his disappointment in their recent displays.

Furthermore, Xavi addressed recent rumors surrounding a conversation he had with Barcelona defender Jules Koundé. The Barcelona coach clarified that the discussion had taken place and both parties left the conversation content. He reassured fans that there were no underlying issues, despite the noise surrounding the situation.

“I spoke with Koundé and we both left the talk happy. I was very clear to him. I know there’s a lot of noise about that, but the player left happy. There’s no problem with that,” Xavi clarified, putting any doubts to rest regarding potential conflicts between the two parties.

In addition to these matters, Xavi expressed surprise at the recent removal of Vinicius Junior’s suspension. The Barcelona coach maintained that an act of aggression had occurred, which should not be disregarded. The decision to overturn the suspension has raised eyebrows, leaving Xavi puzzled about the course of action taken by the authorities.

“I’m surprised that Vinicius’ suspension has been removed. There was an aggression, and that’s unquestionable…” Xavi remarked, expressing his concern regarding the handling of the situation.

As Barcelona prepares for the upcoming challenges, Xavi’s statements shed light on the team’s current mindset and the areas that need improvement. With the coach’s determination to address the issues at hand, fans can expect renewed focus and a dedicated effort to improve their performances on the pitch in the coming matches.
