Zoomlion Ghana Limited (ZGL) last Friday disinfected Pantang Hospital, and the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) offices in Tema, as part of measures to fight the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking to journalists, the Coordinator for the corporate social responsibility disinfection exercise of Zoomlion, Lola Asiseh Ashitey, stated that her outfit is still in the business of assisting the government to stop a further spread of the pandemic.

According to her, the company, with its expertise and resources, will continue to do the best it can in support of the country’s quest to contain the spread of the virus.

Mitigating the impact

The Director of Systems Operations at GRIDCo, Mark Obeng, for his part, said being aware of the impact of Covid-19, the company resolved to take some measures to keep it offices safe.

“One of the things we started was to programme the way staff come into our offices. So we instituted what we call ‘schedules’, which would mean that not all staff are supposed to report to work every day at every time just to minimise the number of people entering into our premises,” he said.

He added that the company has also provided access for people to wash their hands regularly with soap and water among other safety measures.

“We also have at the main gate security measures. Here, staff members’ temperatures are taken so that if it is found that your temperature is above normal you are sent to a nearby hospital for further examination,” he noted.
