Over 420 students out of the about 500 students who sat for the June and September 2018 Independent Examinations Committee of the General Legal Council Professional Law Course Examination (Bar Exams) have failed their. The Evening Mail can confirm.
Just 64 students were able to pass all 10 courses of the exams.
This is in the results released by the Independent Examinations Committee of the General Legal Council today 19th February, 2019.
This number is far lower than the 91 students who passed the exams last which sparked rage in the country.
Last year, about 81% of the students who sat for the Bar exams failed sparking controversy in the country.
Some students of the Ghana School of Law blamed the existing curriculum of the school for the massive failure in the examination.
President of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the Ghana School of Law, Sammy Gyamfi described the results of the exam as not credible.
Per the rules, students who are referred in about one or two courses will have to take a resit.
However, students who fail in all 10 papers will have to take the entire two years course again.
