Chairperson of Everstone Energy, Kenneth Kwamina Thompson, has urged businesses to place greater premium on customer satisfaction, warning that customers may forgive businesses for being small but will not forgive them for being treated poorly.
Mr Thompson, a former Chief Executive Officer of Dalex Finance, made the call as the main speaker at the 9th Ghana Business Standard Awards held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Put Customers First
Mr Thompson stressed that businesses seeking sustainable growth must put customers at the centre of their operations and pay critical attention to how they are treated.

Also in attendance were the Chairman of the Advisory Council of Iustum Center for Democracy and Governance (ICEDEG Africa LBG), Nana Kwasi Asuman-Frimpong, and the organisation’s Executive Secretary, Ellen Ofosu Asieduaa.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the event, Mr Asuman-Frimpong, a consumer rights advocate, said Mr Thompson’s message was timely, particularly as businesses enter the final quarter of the year.
He noted that the period traditionally comes with increased commercial activity and warned that the surge in demand could also create conditions for businesses to abuse or disrespect consumers.
Mr Asuman-Frimpong urged businesses to pay critical attention to customer treatment, arguing that doing so would not only improve their operations but also place consumers at the heart of their businesses.
He said consistently treating consumers well could have a lasting impact by building trust and helping businesses develop a dedicated customer base over the years.
Awards
In all, 21 companies and three individuals were recognised at the ceremony.
The companies included Atwima Kwanwoma Community Bank, ADK Consortium, St John’s Hospital & Fertility Centre, DOSH Health Insurance, Sefwiman Community Bank, Revoobit, Multix, Ankobra West Community Bank, Amenfiman Community Bank, Sonotech Medical and Diagnostic Center, GLICO Group and Property DataBank Ghana.
Others were Danerst Company, aYo Intermediaries Ghana, Asawinso Community Bank, Ramoth Services, Tagwood Construction, Skones Security, IPEC Trust Micro-Credit Enterprise, Victor Electronics and DXN Ghana.
