A Former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for the La Dadekotopon constituency, Nii Amasah Namoale, wants names of former government officials involved in the Airbus bribery scandal revealed.
Airbus, a company noted for the manufacturing of Aircrafts, says it paid bribe in Ghana and some other countries between 2011 and 2015.
This was revealed in a corruption investigation of business deals Airbus has been involved in for the past 10 years.
The Guardian, a UK-based News paper, on the outcome of the UK’s Serious Fraud Office (SFO) investigation stated that “Allison Clare, for the SFO, told the court the company had paid bribes in Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Taiwan and Ghana between 2011 and 2015.”
Following the explosive and embarrassing scandal, there have been calls by critics of the NDC for further investigation.
Mr. Namoale, who is not happy with the corruption allegation being leveled against his party has asked Airbus to mention the names of persons it paid the bribes to.
“Allison Clare, for the SFO, told the court the company had paid bribes in Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Taiwan and Ghana between 2011 and 2015. ‘Yes, who in Ghana? Is it the Kayayoo who carried their baggages, the GPRTU boss, the public servant, the private law firm, the civil servant at the transport ministry, the committee on transport in parliament? We want to know” the politician posted on facebook.
