Hajia Ayishetu Seidu, Municipal Chief Executive of Savelugu, has stated that the achievement of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is what will secure his government a second term victory in the upcoming elections.
She said Ghana has experienced major development projects and social interventions under President Akufo-Addo, saying they have changed the living conditions of the citizenry.

Speaking to the media, Hajia Seidu said Savelugu Municipality has received its share of the One-District-One-Factory, which is the Yoo Rice Processing Factory, in addition to the Technology Solution Centre for the training of artisans and the increase in the number of beneficiaries under the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP).
“Also over 200 Persons with Disabilities have received farm inputs, sheep, deep freezers and cash to support their businesses,” she added.
Hajia Seidu noted that in the educational sector, the Free Senior High School (SHS) programme has been one of the major projects of the government that has earned President Akufo-Addo international recognition, adding “the number of schools under the Ghana School Feeding Programme has risen from 24 schools in the then Savelugu/Nanton District to 40 in the now Savelugu Municipality.”
“Under the free SHS programme, furniture, beds, dormitories and places of convenience are being constructed and the construction of the Diare SHS,” she added.
She said a special attention is also being given the Savelugu School for the Deaf, by expanding its dining hall and rehabilitating its girls dormitory; constructing a fence wall to prevent the encroachment on their land; and providing essentials such as sugar, milk, soap, gari, pepsodent under the disability fund.
“The upgrade of the Savelugu market, the Planting for Food and Jobs, the construction of CHIPS Compounds and the provision of furniture for schools are also some of the projects the Savelugu Municipality has benefitted from,” she added”.
Year of roads
The MCE said the area has also benefited immensely from the government’s ‘Year of Roads’ programme, saying roads such as Savelugu-Kumbungu and Savelugu-Dipali are currently under construction. She added that reshaping of Diari-Adayili, Diari-Nambagla, Savelugu-Bunglung, Pong-Tamale-Kpalung, Kadia-Sana, Pigu-Dikpuni and Disiga-Sakpuli roads are also ongoing.
“We, in Savelugu Municipality, have resolved to endorse President Akufo-Addo’s second term and will vote for him massively in the coming elections,” she said, adding that President Akufo-Addo has fulfilled his campaign promises to Ghanaians and that nothing will be a hindrance to his second term victory.
