A three-storey church building of the Church of Prosperity which belongs to Prophet Akoa Isaac has collapsed at Akyem Batabi in the Asene Manso Akroso District of the Eastern Region, trapping about 65 worshippers.
The incident happened on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 around 2pm. As at 4:30pm, 4 people had been rescued sustaining various degrees of injuries while 1 dead body had been retrieved from the wreckage.
Rescue personnel from the Akim Oda Divisional Police Command, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Ambulance Service, and National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) are working tirelessly to save the lives of those still trapped inside.
