The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the morgue of the same hospital for preservation and identification.

Accident

Reports say the accident occurred on Sunday evening at about 7:30 pm after a DAF tanker truck that was overtaking another vehicle crashed with the taxi cab.

The DAF tanker truck with registration number GW 3739-17 was heading from Koforidua towards Akwadum. Reports say the truck wrongfully tried to overtake a cargo truck ahead but, on reaching a section of the road called Bola Junction, collided with the Matiz Chevrolet taxi cab, with registration number GR6090-18, which had the four passengers including the baby onboard.

Meanwhile, the driver of the DAF tanker truck, Stephen Obeng, is in police custody assisting in investigation.
