Kumasi, capital of the Ashanti Region, will today play host to the 7th Government’s Town Hall Meeting and Results Fair, aimed at showcasing with evidence the programmes and projects being undertaken by the Akufo-Addo led administration since taking over the governance of the country in 2017.

Under the theme “Demonstrating Fulfilment of our Promise,” the Vice-President will give the keynote address and do a presentation with video evidence for the general public to know what the government has achieved so far.

It will be chaired by the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

This was made known by Pius Enam Hadzide, a Deputy Minister of Information.

The event, which is under the auspices of the Ministry of Information, Ministry of Monitoring and Evaluation and the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council, will be held at the Great Hall of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Purpose

The government will use the fair to provide a detailed account of its initiatives that are being rolled out to resolve challenges inherited from the previous administration.

The event will also offer opportunities for open interactions between government officials and the people, who will equally be given opportunity to ask questions about government’s programmes, among others.

The Information Services Department will mount a photo exhibition on the success story of the NPP administration as a side attraction.

Press briefing

Mr Enam Hadzide told the press in Kumasi that the event seeks to explain what he describes as “unprecedented, unmatched and uncontested” achievements of the Akufo-Addo administration.

He invited all Ghanaians to be present at the event in order to put their grievances across to government.

“Traditional leaders, opinion leaders, religious leaders, students and others are all invited to the event,” he said.

Mr Enam Hadzide also disclosed that there will be videos and pictures exhibition on the achievements of the government.

This, he said, seeks to tell Ghanaians that the Akufo-Addo-led administration is “a promise and deliver government and not a ‘green book’ promise government.”
