Last Sunday saw Thelma and Nelson go home, a hard truth which some housemates like Esther could not wrap her head around. Considering how she had rejected Frodd’s romantic advances earlier in the season for Nelson, Esther had a huge part of her taken away with the eviction.
Unlike other Live Eviction Shows, Big Brother Naija host- Ebuka, asked viewers to expect a twist on the following Tuesday at 7pm WAT, a statement he repeated after the Live Nomination show on Monday.
Nominations and subsequent eviction
Having lost the Veto Power Game of chance, all housemates were up for slaughter as only new Head of House, Frodd had secured immunity. At the end, Jeff topped nominations with 8 mentions, followed by Omashola, with Mike and Tacha both entering with 3 mentions each.By no surprise, Jeff was evicted the next Sunday.
Twist
What seemed like a regular Tuesday for housemates, with ongoing sewing and story writing tasks from the 1950s, a bigger wind approached.’Ding-Dong’.The eviction door opened, revealing a woman with VENITA inscribed on her belt, just similar to the ones worn by Big Brother housemates. She enveloped the closest housemates into hugs, introducing herself as the new housemate.
Minutes later, Elozonam walked in as another new entry.

Priceless
Omashola did not hide his joy when he heard Venita was from Delta state, Nigeria where he also lived. Omashola gave her a house tour and offered her a bed close to his. He confessed his love for Venita in the diary room to Big Brother that evening. The VeniShola ship seemed to sail smoothly till Frodd interrupted in the name of Head of House duties, thus beginning the FroNita couple. This did not go down well with Omashola, who made it obvious to Frodd.As if the drama was not enough, two new housemates joined 24 hours after Venita’s entrance. Enkay blended smoothly while Joe did with controversy. Having been recognised immediately by Khafi and Jeff, the latter announced to listening ears that Joe was the ex-boyfriend of Khafi.
Going 50s with a bet
Housemates set a wager of a 100% of their shopping allowance for the week, which had been themed to the 50s. Big Brother tasked them to type out a love story set in the 1950s using typewriters Big Brother provided. Housemates were given sewing machines and fabric to create costumes for the era. In three groups, they were to act out the story for Thursday night presentation.
Group A: Led by Tacha had Khafi, Seyi, Frodd and Sir Dee. With Enkay joining.
Group B: led by Gedoni had Diane, Ike and Jackye. With Elozonam and Joe joining later.
Group C: led by Mercy, had Esther, Omashola, Mike and Jeff. With Venita joining later.Group A emerged winner with a 100 Bet 9ja coin reward each for Tacha, Frodd, Seyi, Khafi and Sir Dee.
Housemates left the arena without knowing the status of their wager to meet Cindy, Big Brother’s latest addition to the house. Not hiding their displeasure, majority of the housemates walked past her, minding their business. Khafi, the ‘head of the welcoming committee,’ treated Cindy to a short tour and offered her locker space.The housemates after breaking a number of rules in the house eventually lost their wager on Friday.
The week ahead
To what viewers of the show term as ‘Hunger Games,’ housemates are expected to survive on leftovers of the previous weeks’ shopping while economising their eating habits.
Ebuka however in the live show asked viewers to pay attention to a new twist on Monday’s Live Nomination which will not include the new housemates whom he continuously insisted were not fake.
