The Deputy Eastern Regional Minister inspecting some gov't projects.

The Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, Mr. Samuel Nuertey Ayertey has called for harmony and peaceful co-existence between farmers in the Fanteakwa North Municipality of the Eastern Region and the Fulani herdsmen in the same Municipality.

 

Farmers in the Municipality have been complaining about activities of the Fulani herdsmen which they say is negatively affecting the major occupation in the area which is farming.

 

The residents accused the herdsmen of leaving their animals astray to destroy farm produce in the area.

The Deputy Regional Minister who was at Fanteakwa as part of his visit to some Municipal and District Assemblies in the region called on the herdsmen to manage and control their animals well to prevent them from causing harm to lives and property in the area.

 

Mr. Ayertey said, plans shall be put in place to build a ranch in the area in order to solve the farmers, herdsmnen continuous clashes.

 

The Deputy Minister used the opportunity to inspect ongoing government project in the Municipality.
